Laudetur Iesus Christus! Last week we sent out a recap of Bishop Athanasius Schneider’s visit and Pontifical Mass at St. Ann’s (https://charlottelatinmass.org/2017/11/20/recap-bishop-schneider-visit/).
This week we are pleased to share with you that another Pontifical liturgy that will be offered at St. Ann’s on Saturday December 9 at 12 noon.
This will be a special Pontifical Divine Liturgy in the Byzantine Rite (Eastern Rite) offered by His Excellency Bohdan Danylo of the Eparchy of Josaphat (Parma, Ohio). Bishop Danylo is an Eastern Rite bishop over the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church for this region including the St. Basil the Great Ukrainian Rite Community in Charlotte (based at St. Thomas Aquinas parish).
The event is part of a 2-day Advent Youth rally organized and led by our friend and Ukrainian-rite priest, Fr. Joseph Matlak. While we normally promote the Traditional Latin Mass, the event will be part of a 2-day youth event that begins with Traditional Latin Mass at 7pm at St. Ann’s on the Feast of the Immaculate Conception on Friday December 8 and resumes the next day with speakers, chant, confessions and of course the Divine Liturgy offered at 12 noon. The talks will be for youth (ages 8 and up), but all family members are invited as well. Meals will be provided.
Everyone is invited for the liturgies on Friday and Saturday.
