We have an important event to share with you this Sunday, August 20th.
12:30pm Latin Mass & presentation offered by Fr. Zachary Akers, FSSP
This Sunday August 20th, we are privileged to have a visiting priest, Fr. Zachary Akers, FSSP, offer the 12:30pm Latin Mass at St. Ann (thanks to Fr. Reid’s generosity & hospitality); followed by a potluck presentation in the Allen Center from 2:15-3pm. We hope you can join us and help with our potluck.
Fr. Akers is a member of the Priestly Fraternity of St. Peter (FSSP – https://fssp.com/), a society of priests who offer the Traditional Latin Mass exclusively. Immediately after Mass, Fr. Akers will give a talk in the Allen Center about the FSSP and its lay component, the Confraternity of St. Peter (http://www.confraternityofstpeter.org/)
The FSSP operates a seminaries in Nebraska and Germany, and staffs many Latin Mass parishes worldwide. For those new to the Latin Mass, the FSSP was established by St. John Paul II in 1988 for priests with an exclusive devotion for the Latin Mass and traditional priestly life. We think you’ll enjoy Fr. Aker’s presentation.
Lastly, if you’d like a sneak preview of Fr. Akers, here is an interview he gave recently on Vatican Radio: https://fssp.com/father-zachary-akers-interviewed-vatican-radio/
