Introducing Juventutem…New Latin Mass young adults apostolate

Laudetur Iesus Christus! We wanted to share with you some exciting news for young adults in Charlotte.

A new group for young adults has formed in Charlotte called Juventutem (Latin for youth). It’s open to ages 18-35 and they seek sanctification through the traditional charisms of the Church, especially through a devotion to the Traditional Latin Mass. Juventutem is an international group and takes its name from the prayer at the beginning of each Latin Mass:

Introíbo ad altáre Dei. / Ad Deum, qui lætíficat iuventútem meam. (“I will go in to the altar of God. / To God, who giveth joy to my youth”)

The mission of Juventutem is to strengthen the faith among young adults through fellowship, spiritual growth and faithful catechesis. Founded by Angela Kessler and other CLMC young adults, its chaplain is Fr. Matthew Bean (St. Thomas Aquinas parish). All young adults welcome – especially those new or unfamiliar to the Latin Mass.

Juventutem’s kickoff event will be Saturday, November 2 – All Souls Day.  A special Requiem High Mass will be held in the Extraordinary Form at St. Thomas Aquinas Church at 10 am (1400 Suther Road, Charlotte), followed by a talk on The Mass & Holy Souls in Purgatory given by Father Matthew Bean at 11:30 am in Aquinas Hall. Please share this news with any young adults that may be interested.
