Laudetur Iesus Christus! As we enter the full first week of Lent, it also is Ember Week and we have a few news items to share.
We’re now on Social Media
In an effort to promote the Latin Mass in Charlotte to a wider audience, the CLMC has established a social media presence.
Facebook account is: https://www.facebook.com/CharlotteLatinMassCommunity
Twitter account is: http://www.twitter.com/CLMCLatinMass
At both places, we’ll share events, news, photos, and periodic Latin Mass related articles. Please add or like these sites if you’re on social media. If you don’t have a Facebook or Twitter account, you can still review the content in a limited way. This will be in addition to our normal e-mail and website updates.
Lenten Ember Days
This week is the Lenten Ember days, when in the traditional Roman Rite calendar, the Church sets aside 3 days each season (Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday) to offer penance and reparation and to beseech God for spiritual progress in the season ahead. Though it’s only commemorated in the traditional 1962 calendar, this tradition continues to grow among many Latin Mass Communities. With all the problems in the Church today, it may be a good idea to offer this week’s penance (now only optional) for reparations for the sins of the Church and her hierarchy. As custom, for more information on the Ember Days, please visit Fisheaters.com:
