Feast of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel – Sunday July 16th

Laudetur Iesus Christus! We have a special feast celebration on Sunday July 16th we want to share with you – please read.

Sunday July 16th is the 6th Sunday after Pentecost and the commemoration of the Feast of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel.  As you may recall, tradition holds that Our Lady appeared to St. Simon Stock in 1251, a Carmelite friar residing at Mt. Carmel in the Holy Land and gave him the Scapular, with a promise that those who wear this will never suffer eternal fire. From this derived the devotion to the brown Scapular, the cloth that many wear faithfully.

Feast Celebration – Sunday July 16th

To commemorate this important feast and devotion, on Sunday July 16th, the CLMC will be organizing a special celebration for 12:30pm Sunday Latin Mass at St. Ann.  The celebration will feature:

  • Beautiful Gregorian chant offered during Mass by the Cantate Domino Latin Choir.
  • Scapular enrollments after every St. Ann’s Mass that weekend (If you’re not currently wearing a brown scapular or enrolled – we encourage all to do so after Mass).
  • Celebration after Mass in the courtyard with brown(ie) Scapular sundaes/ice cream treats.

Please spread the word and invite your friends. These types of feasts are the perfect opportunity to invite newcomers to the Traditional Mass.
