Feasts of Christ the King & All Saints/All Souls

Laudetur Iesus Christus! Thank you to everyone who supported and attended Thursday’s Pontifical Mass & talk by His Excellency Bishop Schneider. We’ll hope to send a recap of the event in the days ahead (and with audio and possibly video of his talks) and hope you found the event edifying and inspiring.

Christ the King Feast is tomorrow!

We just wanted to remind you of our Christ the King Eucharistic Procession tomorrow Sunday October 29 – 12:30pm Latin High Mass at 12:30pm at St. Ann, with the procession immediately after Mass. Please bring your images/statues, etc. of your favorite royal saints (venerable, beatified, or canonized). After the procession, we’ll conclude with prayers to consecration of the human race to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, which carries a plenary indulgence under the usual conditions.

3 feasts this week

This coming week also marks sort of a triumvirate of feasts as Christ the King honors the Church Militant (the faithful on earth), All Saints November 1, honors Church Triumphant (faithful in heaven), and All Souls November 2, commemorates the Church Penitent (faithful being purified in purgatory). With that, below is the Latin Mass schedule for All Saints/All Souls.

All Saints/All Souls schedule

***All Saints Day, Wednesday November 1st is a Holy Day of Obligation***

 St. Ann parish:

All Saints Day Wednesday November 1: 6pm Solemn High Mass

All Souls Day, Thursday November 2: 7pm Solemn High Mass

St. Michael parish in Gastonia:

All Saints Day, Wednesday November 1: 6:30am Low Mass, 6pm Solemn High Mass

All Souls Day, Thursday November 2: 6:00am (Low), 6:30am (Low), 7:00am (Low), 7:30am (Low), 8:00am (Low), 6pm Solemn High Mass

Novena to All Souls in Purgatory

FYI – from November 1-8, you can earn 1 plenary indulgence each day for a poor soul in purgatory if you visit a cemetery and offer prayers for the deceased (this also requires you to attend Mass, receive Holy Communion and the other usual conditions).

 Vivo Cristo Rey!
